Men's health
Men have different health needs than do women. General health supplements and multivitamins fail to address these differences, which include the prostate and a greater emphasis on energy production. Therefore Men's formula contains more vitamins and minerals to cover these concerns.

The main concern for the prostate is cancer, which affects approximately one in every six adult men in the United States. Cancer is thought to develop when highly reactive oxygen molecules, called free radicals, damage cells and cause unregulated cell growth. Free radicals can be neutralized by antioxidants, especially selenium, which are included in the men's formula. The large majority of men (approximately 90%) develop some degree of prostate enlargement as they age. The process begins microscopically when men are in their 40s but significant enlargement generally does not occur until men are over the age of 50. When the prostate enlarges, it can cause partial, and at times complete, obstruction of the bladder leading to difficulty urinating, frequent urination, night time urination and incomplete bladder emptying. Saw palmetto seems to improve these symptoms.

Coronary heart disease is the leading cause of death for men. Heart conditions usually develop when plaques build up in the arteries and obstruct blood flow to the heart. Daily consumption of fish oil may reduce the risk of coronary heart disease. Erection problems are common in adult men. In fact, almost all men experience occasional difficulty getting or maintaining an erection. There is evidence from multiple clinical trials that yohimbine can improve sexual dysfunction.

Men also engage in a lot of physical activities, therefore they require more energy which can be provided by vitamin B complex and ginseng. Exercise also leads to more joint injury and pain which can be relieved by glucosamine and MSM. Men are also susceptible to osteoporosis so calcium is a necessary daily supplement.

It is important to keep in mind that as beneficial as such supplements may be, they cannot be used as a substitute for healthy diet and exercise. The key to good health ultimately lies in frequent exercise and proper nutrition.
